Buying Jewelry from Armenia: Shipping, Customs & Duties
Can I buy jewelry from Armenia and have it shipped to my country?
Yes. Nayiri Jewelry ships worldwide from our atelier in Yerevan — free of charge across Europe and for a flat €20 everywhere else, insured and tracked. In-stock pieces dispatch within 3–5 business days; made-to-order pieces are handcrafted in about 20 business days first.
What shipping costs
- Europe: free. All orders to the EU, UK, Switzerland, Norway and the wider European zone ship free — no minimum.
- United States, Canada, UAE, Australia and the rest of the world: flat €20 per order, regardless of size.
- Armenia: free.
How long it takes
- In-stock pieces: dispatched in 3–5 business days, then typically 3–7 days in transit within Europe, 5–10 days elsewhere.
- Made-to-order and custom pieces: handcrafted in around 20 business days before dispatch. Every ring in a non-standard size, custom engraving or bespoke commission follows this path — it's made for you, not pulled from a shelf.
Ordering for a specific date? For Christmas delivery of a made-to-order piece, order by late November; for in-stock pieces, mid-December is usually safe for Europe. Write to us with your deadline and we'll tell you honestly whether we can meet it.
Will I pay customs or import duties?
Possibly — it depends on your country, and it's the one thing we can't control. Armenia is outside the EU customs union, so:
- European Union: import VAT (your country's standard rate) may be charged on arrival, sometimes with a small carrier handling fee. Jewelry itself is typically low- or zero-duty under EU tariff rules, but VAT applies to the order value.
- United States: shipments under the applicable de minimis threshold usually arrive without charges; above it, duties may apply.
- UK, Switzerland, elsewhere: local import VAT/duty rules apply on arrival.
These fees are set and collected by your local customs authority, not by us, and are the customer's responsibility. If you're unsure, contact us before ordering — we ship to your country regularly and can tell you what buyers there typically pay.
Is it safe to order fine jewelry from Armenia?
Every Nayiri shipment is insured and fully tracked, and you'll receive the tracking number the day it leaves Yerevan. Armenia has exported fine jewelry for decades — Yerevan's goldsmithing tradition long predates online shopping — and our pieces are hallmarked 14-karat gold (585) or 925 sterling silver. You can return non-custom pieces within 14 days of receiving them.
Frequently asked questions
Does Nayiri Jewelry ship to the United States?
Yes — flat €20 shipping, insured and tracked. In-stock pieces typically arrive within 2–3 weeks of ordering; made-to-order pieces add about 20 business days of crafting time.
Is shipping from Armenia to the EU really free?
Yes. All European orders ship free, with no minimum order value. Import VAT may still be charged by your country's customs on arrival.
Who pays customs fees?
The customer. Customs charges are levied by your country's authorities on arrival and vary by destination; we declare shipments accurately and can help you estimate before you order.
Can I return jewelry to Armenia?
Yes — non-custom pieces can be returned within 14 days of receipt in unworn, original condition. Custom-made and personalized pieces can't be returned, which is why we have you approve every detail before we craft.
How is the jewelry packaged?
Every piece arrives in Nayiri gift packaging, ready to give — useful to know, since many of our international orders are gifts for family across the diaspora.
